DXChrono Desktop

Welcome

DXChrono Desktop is a ham radio propagation display for the shack, inspired by the classic Geochron world clock. One screen shows the live grey line (where day meets night), solar indices, HF band conditions, DX spots, satellites, and more — so you can see at a glance what the bands and the world are doing.

What you can do

• World map – NASA Blue Marble base with grey line, twilight zones, and your QTH
• Solar data – SFI, A-index, K-index, and sunspot numbers. Optional 48-hour K-index sparkline (off by default) under Settings → Widgets
• HF band conditions – Day and night ratings on the live DXChrono feed (160 m–10 m by default; classic 80–10 if you turn live HF off). Configure under Settings → HF Band Conditions
• VHF conditions – Optional panel for aurora and E-skip, with All / Europe / North America filters
• Sun/Moon Az-El – Optional panel for Sun and Moon azimuth and elevation at your station
• Overlays – Aurora, MUF (Maximum Usable Frequency), tropo (F5LEN), SpE heatmap (beta, including 4 m), sun/moon
• DX Cluster – Live spots on the map with great-circle lines; hover for details
• Satellites – Track ISS and other amateur satellites with footprints (press Y)
• Cloudlog – QSO stats and recent contacts from your Cloudlog instance
• ADIF Logbook file – Local .adi file for a logbook panel and map markers
• QRZ Logbook – Recent QSOs from QRZ on the map; see Integrations → QRZ Logbook
• N1MM+ – Contest/station context and recent QSOs when using N1MM Logger+
• PSK Reporter – Who’s hearing you and who you’re receiving; optional status panel
• Reverse Beacon Network – Skimmer spots for your callsign; see Integrations → Reverse Beacon
• SOTA – Summit spots and alerts; continent filter and optional panel
• POTA – Park activators and scheduled parks; continent filter and optional panel
• Watch list – Track callsigns across DX Cluster, PSK Reporter, RBN, SOTA, and POTA — Settings → Watch
• Contest calendar – Upcoming contests from the WA7BNM feed; see Integrations → Contest Calendar
• Special Event mode – Last-worked banner and branding for event stations and open days
• Licence – Enter the key from your order email, register this computer (up to five PCs per key). Lost your key? resends keys to your purchase email
• Software updates – Optional reminder when a newer build is available (Settings → Data)

Get started

New to the app? Check System requirements if you are choosing a PC, mini-PC, or Raspberry Pi, then follow Quick Start for install, first-run licence, and station setup.
